It is Day One of the 2018 Asian Games, and India has its first medal. Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar have won the Bronze medal for India, in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event. Coming from Jakarta and Palembang, the 18th Asian Games are officially underway. Day one of the games brought in the mix, one of India's most successful sports over the years- Shooting. A total of six events were scheduled Day One of the Games - Trap Men's Qualification, Trap Women's Qualification, 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Qualification & Final, and 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Qualification & Rifle. While Manu Bhaker and Abhishek Verma disappointed in the 10m Air Pistol event, their counterparts in the 10m Rifle event
won India's first medal of the Asian Games.

However, the pair would be slightly disappointed, having been in the second position halfway through the match. Nonetheless, Chandela and Kumar still managed to grab the Bronze medal for India. Meanwhile, China finished second with a total score of 492.5, while Chinese Taipei took the Gold Medal by shooting 494.1. The Gold-medalists also broke the Games Record on their way to the top.
