India's ace archer Deepika Kumari enters the semi-final of the Tokyo 2020 Test Event defeating Italy's Tatiana Andreoli 6-5 in the quarter-finals of the women's individual recurve event on Wednesday. This is the first time in 2019 that Deepika has reached the semi-final of an international event in an individual category. The former world number woman archer, who was trailing 0-4 initially staged an incredible comeback to level the score with Andreoli to 5-5. The match headed to a shoot-off where Deepika edged past her compatriot shooting a 9* to 9. Earlier Deepika managed to finish fourth in the test event qualification round of the Tokyo Olympics as she shot 668 out of a possible 720 points, thus qualifying for the knock-out round. In the third round, Deepika beat Japan's Sonoda Waka by 6-0. She will be tested by China's Zheng Yichai later today in the semi-final.
