Sandeep Mann is the only Indian freestyle wrestler to get the repechage
Sandeep Mann is the only Indian wrestler who is still active in the competition as he will be competing tomorrow in the repechage round, hoping for his maiden world medal.
He got the opportunity after his pre-quarterfinal opponent, Miriani Maisuradze of Georgia reached the final of men's 92 Kg.
India's biggest medal hope Udit also exits the tournament as Vito loses in the semifinals
Vito Arujau of the USA lost his semi-final match against Masanosuke Ono of Japan, ending the hopes of a second chance (via Repechage) for Udit.
Udit had a very close fight against Vito in the earlier rounds but failed to win the match and now can't take any further part in the competition.
Parvinder Singh's tournament ends as there is no Repechage for him
Earlier, Parvinder Singh (79 Kg) conceded a tough defeat to Daulet Yergesh of Kazakhstan in the round of 16 but was hoping for a second chance via repechage.
However, his opponent, Daulet loses his quarterfinal bout to Avtandil Kentchadze of Georgia, ending the journey for Manish at this competition.
Meanwhile, Udit (61 Kg) and Sandeep Mann (92 Kg) are still alive in the tournament as there opponents reached the semifinals.
Manish Goswami's tournament ends as there is no Repechage for him
Earlier, Manish Goswami (70 Kg) conceded a technical superiority defeat to Kanan Heybatov of Azerbaijan in the first round, but was hoping for a second chance via repechage.
However, his first-round opponent, Kanan loses his round of 16 bout to Inalbek Sherievof AIN, ending the journey for Manish at this competition.
