Budapest Ranking Series: Antim Panghal, Aman Sehrawat to lead Indian squad- Preview

Indian elite wrestlers will be back in action at the final Ranking Series event of the year, the Polyák Imre, Varga János & Kozma István Memorial, in Budapest, Hungary, from July 15 to 19.

Olympic medallist Aman Sehrawat will lead the Indian challenge, joined by star performers Antim Panghal and Deepak Punia, who are returning to the national team.

Olympian Nisha Dahiya also returns to the squad in the women's 68kg category. Meanwhile, rising star Sujeet Kalkal and former Asian champion Manisha Bhanwala have opted to skip the event.

The tournament will serve as the final exposure event for the Indian wrestlers ahead of two major competitions, the World Championships and the Asian Games.

India's strongest medal prospects lie in women's wrestling. With powerhouse Japan absent, the Indian women's team will aim to secure crucial ranking points for better seeding at the major championships.

The competition will begin with men's freestyle action on Wednesday, followed by women's wrestling and Greco-Roman events over the next four days.
