Table Tennis: Indu Puri to lead TTFI ad-hoc committee

Eight-time national champion and one of India's earlier table tennis stars, Indu Puri, was named as the chairperson of the ad-hoc committee to run the daily affairs of Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI).

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) formed a three-member ad-hoc committee via an order issued on September 17.

Indu Puri, 73, will be joined by sports lawyer Namrata Chatterjee and ITTF governance manager Dr Andres Constantin in the committee.

This development comes a month after the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports suspended the TTFI for governance failures.

The IOA noted that the ad-hoc committee was formed in consultation with the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

The committee, appointed for a duration of six months, will look after day to day operations of the TTFI whilst also reviewing the federation's governance framework and constitution.
