On the final day of the group stage of the ITTF-ATTU Asian Cup at the Universiade Sports Center in Shenzhen, China, on Friday, six Indian players were in action.
Sreeja Akula, Ayhika Mukherjee, and Yashaswini Ghorpade were aiming to return to winning ways after losing on the tournament's second day.
After Stage 1 of the competition, where 32 players have been divided into eight groups of four each, ended, the top two players from each group advanced to Stage 2, which will be a knock-out format.

After a disappointing day where all the Indian paddlers had to face a defeat, the Indian campaign at the Asian Cup has now ended.
None of the six players were able to move past the group stage and hence will leave the tournament empty-handed.
Despite winning the opening game in a dominating way, Harmeet Desai lost his final group match against Kao Cheng-Jui of Chinese Taipei.
He ended the tournament with one win in three group matches and had a fourth-place finish in the group, resulting in an early exit from the competition.
