Asian Table Tennis C'ships: Indian men's team win third consecutive bronze medal-Highlights
The Indian men's team have secured their third consecutive medal at the Asian Championships, thanks to their win against Kazakhstan.
The Indian men's table tennis team is taking on Chinese Taipei in the semifinals of the 2024 Asian Table Tennis Championships, in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Thursday.
Following that, the mixed doubles pair of Manav Thakkar and Manika Batra are playing against Ri Jon-Sik and Kim Kum Yong of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the round of 16.
The men's team match is tentatively scheduled to start at 12:30 PM, IST and the mixed doubles match at 3 PM, IST.
As it happened:
Indian doubles pair of Manika Batra and Manav Thakkar lose to RI Jong Sik and Kim Kum Yong 1-3.
After going 0-2 down against the Paris Olympics silver medalists, the Indians did well to win a game but their North Korean opponents wrapped up proceedings in game four.
This brings to an end the Indian matches on Day four of the 2024 Asian Table Tennis Championships.
Good fight shown from the Indians. They were cautious and forced the errors out of their opponents.
Ri and Kim are just two points away from sealing the tie and advancing to the quarterfinals.
Despite the best efforts from the Indians, they are unable to catch up. They are just two behind.
