The WSF World Squash Team Championships 2024, a first of its kind featuring both the men’s and women’s championships simultaneously, concluded on Sunday at Hong Kong.

While the Indian men’s team attained a fifth-place finish and the women finished seventh, the silver lining came in the form of a special mention at the awards ceremony where the Indian men’s and women’s squads were named the ‘most improved team’.

India’s campaign ended on Saturday with the men’s team finishing fifth after beating hosts Hong Kong China 2-0 in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s campaign finished with a 2-1 victory over France in their final match of the competition. This ensured that they placed seventh at the championship.

Egypt dominated the championship with both their men’s and women’s squad clinching the titles.

While Egypt’s women’s squad beat the USA 2-0 to pocket their fourth consecutive title, the men, by virtue of beating England, won their sixth title.
