Indian star Anahat Singh advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the 2026 World Squash Junior Championships in Ontario, Canada, on Tuesday.

She registered her second consecutive dominant straight-game victory, defeating Hong Kong's Pui Yin Chloe Lo 11-3, 11-1, 11-3 in the women's round of 32.

In the men's singles, Aryaveer Dewan also cruised into the pre-quarterfinals with a comfortable 11-4, 11-3, 11-3 victory over South Africa's Joseph Feast in the round of 32.

Dewan is among the top eight seeded players and will have his first real test of the competition in the next round, where he will face USA's Yassen Shalaby on July 22.

On the other hand, title favourite Anahat Singh will face another lower-ranked player, Doyce Ye San Lee of Malaysia, in the next round on Wednesday.

India had a poor day in the other matches, as all five players- Anika Dubey, Yusha Nafees, Gurveer Singh, Rudra Singh, and Saanvi Kalanki- bowed out in the round of 32.

In the women's singles, all three players- Anika, Rudra, and Saanvi— lost their respective matches in straight games to higher-seeded opponents.

Meanwhile, Gurveer Singh fought hard in four games but fell to second seed Adam Hawal of Egypt, while Yusha lost to higher-seeded Malaysian Nickhileswar Moganasundharam.
