Abhay Singh wins PSA Squash Challenger title in Malaysia

India No. 1 Abhay Singh claimed his 13th career title on the PSA Circuit with a win at the Tuanku Muhriz Trophy in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, on Sunday.

The top-seeded Abhay continued his good form and defeated Henry Luang of Hong Kong in five games, 11-7, 6-11, 3-11, 11-5, 12-10, to clinch this 15K PSA Challenger title.

The Indian star came from 1-2 down in a closely contested final to win the last two games and claim victory in Malaysia, adding another accolade to his career.

Despite being the top seed, Abhay faced a tough challenge throughout the event. He played three demanding matches en route to the final, where he was stretched till the end by Henry.

He began his campaign with two four-game wins over Malaysia’s Low Wa Sern and Mohammad Syafiq Kamal to reach the semi-finals.

In the semis, he survived a scare against another Malaysian opponent, Ameeshenraj Chandaran, prevailing in a marathon 72-minute match.

This was world No. 24 Abhay’s first event in two months and will be a good confidence booster ahead of the 2026 Asian Games, where he will compete for a potential first-ever Olympic quota in squash for LA 2028.
