Union minister Scindia names shooting range after Manu Bhaker
The newly inaugurated shooting range named after Manu Bhaker came up in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, on Monday, inaugurated a shooting range named after Manu Bhaker, who won two bronze medals in the Paris Olympics 2024 in Jiwaji Club in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
"A shooting range for 10-metre air pistol and rifle has been inaugurated at Jiwaji Club in Gwalior," Scindia told Bhaker in the video call.
The minister also fired a few shots at the new range.
At the Paris Olympics, Manu became the first Indian athlete to win two medals at the same edition.
The shooter from Haryana has announced a three-month break after her successful Olympic campaign.
The 22-year-old shooter won Bhaker won the two medals in the women's 10m air pistol and 10m air pistol mixed team events. After winning the individual bronze, she paired up with Sarabjot Singh to win the mixed team bronze.
Manu's coach Jaspal Rana said they will work together for the 2026 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games after she returns from the break.
