ISSF World Cup: Manu Bhaker, Saurabh Chaudhary return to action for season opener – Preview

A strong 43-member Indian shooting contingent led by two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker is geared up to kickstart the season’s first tournament - ISSF World Cup 2025- scheduled to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina starting April 1-11.

As many as 410 shooters from 45 countries will be competing in rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines. The second edition of the 2025 ISSF World Cup will be held in Lima, Peru from April 13 to 22.

India is fielding its largest contingent followed by China (39 athletes), Argentina and Kazakhstan with 29 athletes each.

Manu will be competing in three events including the women's 10m air pistol and 25m pistol, as well as the mixed team event.

Manu’s partner Sarabjot Singh, who won bronze in the mixed team 10m air pistol event, and Paris Olympic bronze medalist Swapnil Kusale will not feature in the squad.

Anish Bhanwala, Vijayveer Sidhu, Esha Singh, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Sift Kaur Samra, Arjun Babuta, Prithviraj Tondaiman, Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Raiza Dhillon are the other Paris 2024 Olympians who will be in action in Buenos Aires.

Saurabh Chaudhary, the 2020 Tokyo Olympian, is also set to return to India colours in this competition. He had shot a national record score to mark his return to the Indian team earlier this year.
