Women's Discus throw F55 final is over! Sakshi and Karamjyoti finished 8th and 9th respectively
India's Sakshi Kasana (21.49m) and Karamjyoti (20.22m) finished in 8th and 9th position respectively despite hitting their season-best throws in the Women's Discus Throw F55 final.

Preethi Pal clocks a PB to become the first Indian to win a track medal at the Paralympics
Preethi clocked a timing of 14.21s to win her first-ever Paralympic medal, that too on her debut at the Games.
China did a gold-silver podium finish at this event as Zhou Xia (13.58s) and Guo Qianqian (13.74s) won the gold and silver medals respectively.

No medal for India in women's Discus throw F55 as Rooba overtakes Sakshi
Rooba Alomari of Bahrain makes a jump up to the third position with the best throw of 23.24m on her final attempt.
This meant that India will have no medal from this competition as Sakshi (21.49m) and Karamjyoti (20.22m) falls to fourth and fifth position respectively.
Sakshi ends with the best throw of 21.49m. Still in third position
Sakshi Kasana had a poor start to the final but in the fifth throw, she found out her season-best distance of 21.49m. This was also her best throw of the final.
With this, she has now jumped up to the third position, replacing compatriot Karmajyoti in the standings.
Karamjyoti has now gone out of the medal race.
