Paralympics 2024 Para-Shooting: Nihal Singh, Amir Ahmad bows out in Qualifications - Highlights
Catch the highlights of Indian para-shooters' performances at the Paris Paralympics 2024 on Monday.
After an unfortunate day where the Indian shooters couldn't qualify for the finals in the Mixed 10m Air Rifle SH1 and SH2 events, Indian shooters looked for an improved show on Monday.
Two Indian para-shooters Nihal Singh and Amir Ahmad Bhat were in action today in the Mixed 25m Pistol Qualifications - Precision and Rapid.
Both the shooters stayed in the mix, till the last series, but an unfortunate mistake in the last series took them out of the competition.
Nihal finished in 10th with 569 points and Amir finished in 11th position with 568 points.

Nihal starts with an 8, adds back-to-back 9s to it, converts the penultimate shot to a 10, and ends with a 9.
Meanwhile, Amir hit three 9s, an 8, and a sole 10 in the last set of shots.
Both the shooters bowed out of the qualifications after the underwhelming final round
Nihal and Amir hit two 9s and two 10s, both in the top 8.
Both the Indians ended with a solid 10 to remain in contention.

9 to start for both the Indians, Nihal shot 2 9s, 2 10s and an underwhelming 7.
Amir hits a 10, followed by a 9, to hit another 10 and finish the series on a high with a hattrick of 10s.
Amir clinched 95 points and moved to the 9th position.
Nihal is currently in the 5th position.
While, Amir shot a 8, 9 and three 10s, to remain in top-10, but currently out of the finals position.
Both Nihal and Amir are in the top 8 with 2 series remaining.
Nihal started with 2 back-to-back 9s and finished with a hattrick of 10s.
Meanwhile, Amir began with a 9, hit 3 10s in a row and ended the series with a 9.
Nihal with three 10s and two 9s, while Amir started with 2 10s, followed it up by 2 9s but ended with an unfortunate 8.
In the rapid, the shooters have to fire 5 shots at a go within the limited time frame.

Rapid Fire Stage consists of 30 shots, in six series of 5 shots.
Each series consists of 5 exposures of the target, each exposure is for 3 seconds; the shooter fires one shot per exposure.
Both the Indians ( Nihal and Amir ) are in the mix of things to qualify for the finals and currently are in the top-8 after the precision round.
The Qualification world record is in the name of Yang Chao from China with a massive 589/600. Yang is currently in the 14th spot with 287/300 points.
Nihal has 287/300 and Amir has 286/300 points at the mid-way.
