Paralympics 2024 Day 7: Harvinder Singh, Dharambir wins the gold medal - Highlights
Catch Highlights of Indian para-athletes' Paralympics 2024 on Day 7.
India started Day 7 of the Paralympics 2024 with 20 medals in their kitty. On Wednesday, India's para-athletes will have several opportunities to add to their medal tally and breach the 25-medal mark set by the Indian Paralympic committee.
The focus then will shift to Para-shooting and Para-athletics, as Indian athletes compete in the Mixed 50m Pistol Qualifications and Men's and Women's Shot Put Final of the F46 category.
At 2:15 PM, we have Bhavinaben Patel para-table tennis quarterfinals followed by the Men's 49kg Final of Powerlifting.
Following that, India's star powerlifter Sakina Khatun will be in action in the women's 45kg finals.
Tokyo's bronze medalist archer Harvinder Singh will also be in action later in the evening.
And we'll end the first week of the competition with club throws in para-athletics followed by Simran in the 100m T12 Round 1.
As it happened:
With an Asian record to his name, India's Dharambir currently leads the Men's Club Throw F51 event with a best throw of 34.92m.
Following closely, fellow Indian Pranav Soorma is in the silver medal spot with a throw of 34.59m.
Could we be witnessing another history in the making?
Scoring only 9s and 10s in the final, Harvinder Singh has became the first ever archer to win a gold in archery with a convincing 6-0 win over Polish archer Lukasz Ciszek.
Indeed a redemption for all the heartbreaks seen over the past few weeks!
With a sensational run so far, can Harvinder Singh get the coveted gold in para-archery?
While para-athletics has already done wonders, can one of them add another feather in India's already illustrious cap?
With a convincing win of 7-3 against Iran's Mohammad Reza, Harvinder has become the first ever archer to reached a final, confirming a medal for India in the Men's individual recurve event.
With being just one step away from confirming a medal for India, can Harvinder change the colour of his medal?
