Sohail Khan creates Indian Kudo history with 3.30-second knockout

Indian Kudo star Sohail Khan created history at the 4th National Kudo Championship Cup after registering the fastest knockout in Indian Kudo and winning his 23rd consecutive national gold medal.

Competing in the Men’s -250 PI category in Pune, Sohail produced a stunning 3.30-second knockout victory over Rahul Vyas of Rajasthan in the quarter-finals, setting a new benchmark in Indian Kudo. The finish is also being regarded as one of the fastest knockouts recorded across Indian combat sports.

The tournament began with Sohail receiving a bye in the opening round before progressing further after his scheduled second-round opponent, Gulshan of Chhattisgarh, withdrew before the contest.

The defining moment came in the quarter-finals when Sohail overwhelmed Rahul Vyas almost immediately after the bout began, delivering a knockout in just 3.30 seconds.

Sohail continued his strong run in the semi-finals against Tam Lapang of Arunachal Pradesh, securing victory through a Darce Choke submission within one minute.

In the final, he defeated Deepak Kumar of Haryana by an emphatic 8-0 scoreline to clinch another national title.

Before Sohail’s achievement, a four-second knockout by Arka Banerjee at the WMC India Ranking Series in West Bengal had been regarded among the fastest finishes in Indian combat sports.

The latest triumph extended Sohail’s remarkable streak to 23 consecutive gold medals in national-level competitions, further strengthening his reputation as one of India’s most dominant combat athletes.

Speaking after the victory, Sohail Khan said: “Every tournament is a new challenge, and I entered this championship with complete focus and discipline. Creating the fastest knockout record is special, but winning my 23rd consecutive gold medal is something I’m extremely proud of.”
