Asian Champions Trophy 2023: India women reach final; beat South Korea 2-0 in semis- Highlights

Indian women's hockey team reaches the final of the Asian Women's Champions Trophy with a hard-fought 2-0 win over South Korea. Salima Tete (11') and Vaishnavi Phalke (19') scored the goals for India. 

India will face off against Japan, who beat China in the first semifinal, in the final on Sunday. 

Korea is now back to 11 players, while the Indians are still down to 9 women. 

Korea gets a penalty corner, but the Indians go for a review. Does it catch Nikki Pradhan's hand? It does, India loses its review.

Eunji Kim receives a blow on her face. Lalremsiami breaks into the Korean circle after delivering a pass to Salima. 

Eunji, trying to ward off Lalremsiami, gets hit on her face by Lalremsiami's stick. Nasty blow!

The Korean players are now trying to keep the pressure on the Indian defence as Vanada and Jyoti have been shown the yellow card. 

India is down to 9 women while the Koreans are down to 10 women

Salima Tete goes down during a tussle with Suji Choi, who runs the stick into Salima's body. 

Suji receives a yellow card. She has to be outside for 5 minutes. The Koreans are down to 10 women. 

India leads 2-0

Vandana breaches the circle and earns a penalty corner. 

Ishika injects the ball, and Navneet hits the board! The umpire rejects the goal as she deems Navneet's stroke too high. 

India launches a counterattack, but Korea nullifies the danger.

Eunbi initiates the play for South Korea as the fourth and final quarter of the semifinal begins. 

South Korea delivered an improved show in the third quarter as it did not allow India to score any more goals. 

India, on the other hand, continued to dominate the match. India 2-0 South Korea 

Koreans find the leg of Neha. Lee Yujin injects the ball and Nisha is the first rusher. The Korean drag flicker hits hard. 

The ball flies over the goalpost after Nisha receives a nasty blow on her head. She needs medical attention. 

Nisha continues to play. 

India leads 2-0.

The video referral says the Korean player's feet are inside the circle. India earns a penalty corner. 

Salima Tete takes the injection. Not a good effort by the Indian players. Baljeet Kaur still tries to attempt a shot, but the Korean defence clears the danger.
