A comprehensive victory for Soorma Hockey Club against Delhi Pipers, winning the match 5-1!

The match was pretty much sealed after the first quarter, with Soorma taking a 3-0 lead and since then, it was just one-way traffic.

Delhi tried their best, even played with 11 outfield players in the final quarter as a last throw of the dice, but to no avail.

With Delhi playing with 11 outfield players, when the referee called the penalty corner, there was not much the Pipers could do.

Penny placed the ball into the goalkeeper-less net with a powerful dragflick!

The referee has now blown the FT whistle, putting Delhi out of their misery.

It was mayhem inside the Soorma circle, but somehow, the Soorma defence and the goalkeeper keep the ball out of the goal.

The scoreline remains the same, despite Delhi getting another penalty corner, but Deepika's dragflick was too wide.

After sitting back and absorbing all of the pressure from Delhi at the start of the quarter, Soorma are now keeping hold of the ball and looking to see the game out.

Delhi, meanwhile, have taken their gk out as a last throw of the dice to get something from this game.

Delhi win the first penalty corner of the match, and it was Manisha Chouhan who hit the dragflick but it was straight at the goalkeeper who saved it without much fuss.

The Pipers are making more inroads but with just over 10 minutes to go, the result looks like a foregone conclusion.

The match looks more or less done, with Soorma Hockey Club in a commanding position.

Can Delhi Pipers show a fight and reduce their margin of defeat or dare I say, make an improbable comeback?
