The scoreline opened by the skipper Harmanpreet Singh as he caressed his drag-flick from a penalty corner straight into the nets. The second quarter saw Indian men going out on a goal spree with four consecutive goals coming from Shamsher Singh, Gursahibjit Singh, Nilakanta Kumar and star forward Mandeep Singh. The score remained unchanged in the second half, giving India a comfortable edge.

India make its mark by winning two consecutive series following their success at the FIH Series Finals. Coach Reid will be on a high after turning the team's fortune after over a year of series drought.
