HIL: Kalinga Lancers beat Team Gonasika for second win – Highlights

The Lancers have registered their second successive victory and have leapfrogged to the third spot in the points table. Crazy to think that they were placed dead last just three days back. Have the Lancers finally arrived?

Meanwhile, Team Gonasika's struggles continue. They seem a good outfit for most part, but then some defensive lapses creep in to cost them the match. A lot of fixing needed for Manpreet Singh and co before they next take the field.

Antoine Kina from Kalinga Lancers is the Player of the Match. He scored the first goal for Lancers.

"We started bad, but after we took charge and played well. It collectively was a good game," he says.

The Kalinga Lancers, after a poor start to the season, have now registered their second consecutive outright win. They go from the last spot to the third spot in the points table within three days. How's that for a turnaround?

Team Gonasika were the one to score first, but the Lancers held on. They did struggle inside the circle a lot, but two massive lapses from the Gonasika defence handed them two easy goals. It was enough for three points.

Just 48 seconds on the clock and the Lancers have squandered another chance. A good run on the left from Enrique Gonzalez. He crosses it to Gursahibjit, who fails to trap cleanly on the first attempt.

He still takes a desperate attempt, but it is nowhere near target.

Just three and a half minute left on the clock and this match seems to slipping away from Gonasika. The Kalinga Lancers are untroubled by everything at the moment.

A good aerial ball into the circle from Team Gonasika and Antoie Kina intercepts it for Kalinga Lancers. Gonasika ask for a review for danger on that and are proven wrong. They lose their review.

A good move on the right flank by Rabichandra and the umpire feels he has earned a PC for Lancers. Gonasika review and it is a clean tackle from their defender.

The PC decision is reversed for a second time tonight.

A good run from the right by Angad Bir Singh yet again and he puts the ball past three defenders to set up Dilpreet Singh. 

Dilpreet is unmarked and comes rushing in to take the shot, but it is wide. That is a chance missed for the Lancers.

A good steal from Lee Morton for Gonasika and he goes on a run. Morton, however, is taken down just outside the shooting circle. He feels it should be a penalty corner, but the umpire feels it is not. No review taken.
