The Vedanta Kalinga Lancers took on the Soorma Hockey Club in their third match of the season at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela on Sunday.
The Lancers hasn't won a single match so far, lost one in a shootout and one in the full-time, and had another close defeat today against the Soorma Hockey Club, who has now jumped up to the third position in the league table.

Soorma Hockey Club registered their first win in this tournament with a come-from-behind victory against Kalinga Lancers in a high-scoring affair.
They entered the final quarter on level terms but then their captain Harmanpreet Singh scored his first goal of the season via a penalty corner, giving Soorma a lead for the first time in the match.
The Lancers made a quick comeback when Gursahibjit Singh converted the goal on a minus pass from Kina, who showcased a brilliant baseline run to cut through the Soorma's defense.
Later, Harish scored his maiden HIL goal to take Soorma back in the lead which they maintained throughout the quarter because of some brilliant saves in goal by their Belgian Goalkeeper Vincent Vanasch.
Vincent has a brilliant final quarter, making another save on the penalty corner, and maintaining his team's lead with just 30 seconds on the clock.

Soorma's goalkeeper Vincent made a very important save on the penalty stroke to deny Hendrickx from scoring an equalizer.
