The Indian women's hockey team began its campaign at the FIH Pro League 2024-25 with the season opener against England at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar on Saturday.
The Indian team, fresh from the success of the inaugural Women's Hockey India League, was aiming for a good start to the first leg of the FIH Pro League season at home.
As it happened:
India started its campaign at the FIH Pro League with a full-time victory against England in the season opener in Bhubaneshwar.
England found a late equalizer in the 58th minute, hoping to force a shoot-out but their dreams were shattered as Navneet Kaur scored India's third goal in the very next minute, helping India to win all three points from the match.
Both teams will play each other in the reverse fixture tomorrow.
England is continuously putting a lot of pressure on India in this final quarter and has four circle penetrations already which also resulted in its third penalty corner but India is somehow able to stop them from causing any dent.
