NEFL 2019: Assam, Manipur and Mizoram register wins

On the 4th day of the tournament, in the 1st match Assam Titans won 1-0 against Meghalaya Thunders. Aklanta Basumatary scored the lone goal.

Guwahati: Northeast Futsal League (NEFL) is being played in KNC Bordoloi Indoor, Sarusojai Sports Complex Guwahati, Assam. It is India’s first-ever mixed-gender futsal league, which will feature six teams in total, will be played over a period of seven days till August 31.

On the 4th day of the tournament, in the first match, Assam Titans won 1-0 against Meghalaya Thunders. Aklanta Basumatary scored the lone goal. While in the second match, Manipur won against Nagaland 3-1. For Manipur, Md Yasir scored 2 goals and Md Shah Jahan scored the other goal. Patricia was the lone scorer for Nagaland.

In the third match, Mizoram beat Arunachal by 2-1. Lalringsanga and Jessica scored one each for Mizoram while for Arunachal, Romik Tapa scored the lone goal.

On August 27, Arunachal and Nagaland had played a 3-3 draw.

On August 29 Mizoram will play against Assam in the first match (4 pm), Arunachal faces Manipur in the second match (5 pm) and in the third match, Meghalaya plays against Nagaland (6 pm).

The NEFL being organized by Proclivity sports and Recreation Pvt Ltd is aimed to create and develop a sustainable foundation for the sport of Futsal as a sporting career alternative for the athletes of Assam and Northeast India, by providing the best education, facilities and showcases to participate in the game.
