With a couple of interesting results, here is the team of the week of the 10th matchweek of the Indian Super League.

Update: 2024-12-03 13:44 GMT

The 10th match week of the Indian Super League was an interesting one as table toppers Bengaluru FC lost comprehensively to Odisha FC while East Bengal FC finally won a point.

Mohun Bagan SG won a hard-fought game against Chennaiyin while Jamshedpur FC demolished Mohammedan SC.

Here’s The Bridge’s Team of the Week for Matchweek 10:

Goalkeeper

Albino Gomes- Jamshedpur FC

The Jamshedpur FC shot-stopper features in the list after his team demolished Mohammedan SC and despite conceding a goal, Albino stood out for JFC.

The goalkeeper had good command in the box making four saves and eight recoveries.

However, he conceded a goal in the 88th minute but the performance was flawless till that point from Gomes.

Defenders

Boris Singh- FC Goa

The player of the match in the Kerala Blasters and FC Goa clash, Boris Singh Thangjam scored the only goal of the match.

It was a mistake from the Kerala Blasters goalkeeper Sachin Suresh that allowed the goal but Boris was active to react immediately and put it past him.

Boris was part of the stubborn defence of Goa that kept Kerala attackers at bay and resulted in the away team winning the game.

Sandesh Jhingan- FC Goa

The experienced Indian defender was the human blockade in the FC Goa defence and didn't let anything through.

He made three blocks and cleared the ball nine times which included five headed clearances. He also recovered the ball twice to keep the clean sheet.

Similarly, he was a threat in the attack and had a shot at the goal.

Odei Onaindia- FC Goa

Completing the Goa trio in the team, Odei was the heart of the Goan defence covering for the full-backs who went ahead in the attack.

Odei had eight clearances and was constantly supplying balls ahead to the mid-field and attack.

Md Uvais- Jamshedpur FC

Young defender Uvais was one of the stand-out players for JFC in the clash against Mohammedan SC.

Uvais was constantly involved in the defensive action and successfully won two tackles. He cleared the ball six times and also recovered it three times.

Uvais formed a solid partnership with Stephen Eze who was equally good for Jamshedpur FC.

Midfielders

Jerry Mawihmingthanga- Odisha FC

Jerry was the one who opened the scoring against table-toppers Bengaluru FC in Odisha's 4-2 win.

He was too hot to handle for the Bengaluru defence in the early few minutes and his positioning in the 10th minute meant that he was in the right position to receive the ball from Isak and slot it home.

Madih Talal- East Bengal FC

The French midfielder was one of the reasons why East Bengal managed to win their first-ever game of the ISL 2024/25 season.

He assisted the only goal scored by Dimitrios Diamantakos through a cross in the 23rd minute.

Apart from that, he had two shots on target and contributed massively to the attacks by East Bengal.

Greg Stewart- Mohun Bagan Super Giant

Greg Stewart was the perfect embodiment of making an impact in a limited time this matchweek.

The Scottish midfielder was brought on by Jose Molina with just five minutes left on the clock with MBSG heading to a 0-0 draw with Chennaiyin FC.

However, the Scot had another idea as he turned the game around with his creativity and assisted Jason Cummings within one minute of him gracing the pitch.

The goal proved crucial as MBSG bailed out a hard-fought victory.

Md Sanan- Jamshedpur FC

The young Indian winger played 82 minutes for JFC in the clash against Mohammedan SC and was a live wire throughout.

He opened the scoring for JFC in the second half with a brilliant shot that nestled in the top corner giving Bhaskar Roy no chance. He was active during his stay on the pitch and registered three shots.

Attackers

Diego Mauricio- Odisha FC

Diego Mauricio was one of the best players on the pitch in the Odisha and Bengaluru clash.

He scored two goals effectively killing the game when Bengaluru was trying to make a comeback in the second half.

First, he received a pass from Jerry in the extra time of the first half and tucked it neatly in the bottom right corner to make it 3-0 and then scored another goal in the 60th minute to put the game beyond BFC's reach.

Sunil Chhetri- Bengaluru FC

The ever-green 40-year-old Sunil Chhetri is the top scorer for Bengaluru FC this season and was the reason behind the failed attempt of a comeback in the second half from Bengaluru.

When Chhetri came in the second half BFC was 0-3 down but he tried his best to ignite a comeback by scoring the goal in the 52nd minute.

This was his fifth goal of the season and he is the highest Indian goalscorer of the season.
