I-League 2020-21: East Bengal in close contact to sign Ishan Pandita

Kolkata giants East Bengal FC is in close contact with Lorca FC Forward Ishan Pandita as The Bridge can confirm.

The global sports scenario is currently hit with the coronavirus pandemic but it seems to not to having a great effect on the Indian football transfer market so far. As the clubs are on with their negotiation and communications, East Bengal who is found to be the most active in the current scenario.

The Red and Yellow army have already signed in Omid Singh and Balwant Sing and are also in talks with a number of major Indian names but it is Ishan Pandita who is the new addition in the Red and Gold’s wish list.

The 21-year-old Bengaluru born forward is currently playing for La Liga based semi-pro side Lorca FC that takes part in Spain's fourth tier. Pandita, who is a UD Almeira graduate spent almost half of a decade trying his skills across the lower tiers of La Liga. He is currently stuck at Spain due to the COVID-19 pandemic and have offers from a couple of Segunda Division clubs for the upcoming season. But it seems that Ishan has made his mind to return to the roots as he aspires to grab a national team call.

The Indian Super League clubs started their run for the Indian born a few weeks before when Pandita expressed his wish to play here in India. Sources close to the development can confirm that the current Lorca FC forward has grabbed in interest from a lot of Indian clubs including the Indian football giants. But it is the Red and Golds who are forerunners in the quest for the talented colt.
