IBSF Billiards C'ship: Pankaj Advani is one win away from the title
Pankaj progressed to the final of the IBSF 150-up Billiards with a 4-2 win over Sourav Kothari, who settled for bronze.
Indian ace cueist Pankaj Advani has progressed to the final of the IBSF 150-up Billiards Championship with a tight 4-2 win over compatriot Sourav Kothari in Doha, Qatar on Friday.
The defending champion Pankaj continued his domination at the tournament and is just a win away from defending his title. He will face Robert Hall of England in the final tomorrow.
Robert booked his spot in the final with a 4-1 win over former champion Peter Gilchrist of Singapore in the semifinals. Pankaj will be confident going into the final as he already registered a win against Robert in the group stage.
Sourav Kothari, who missed out on a medal in the IBSF World Snooker Championship after losing in the quarterfinal earlier this week, didn't miss this time and won the bronze medal in the 150-up competition.
He gave a solid fight to Pankaj, winning two of the six frames but it wasn't enough for him as the 39-year-old Pankaj showed his class, winning the match with a dominating sixth frame score of 153 to 31.
