India's snooker duo, the 21-time world champion Pankaj Advani and Laxman Rawat, staged a terrific comeback from the brink of defeat to beat Ireland's Brendan O'Donoghue, Aaron Hill 3-2 and kept hopes alive of defending the IBSF Snooker World Team Cup title in Doha on Monday. With this victory, India sets up a final encounter with neighbours Pakistan on Tuesday. The Pakistani team, comprising Asjad Iqbal and Muhammad Bilal, beat Qatar's Mohsen Abdulaziz Bukshaisha and Ahmed Saif 3-1 in the Semi-Final. The Indian cueists lost their individual frames to the Irish opponents early in the game and were trailing 0-2. However, they bounced back strongly in the doubles after staring at a possible elimination. Advani went on to beat seasoned campaigner O’Donoghue in the fourth frame, setting up a tense decider for Rawat and Hill. In no time, Laxman found himself with a 30-point deficit as Hill drew first blood. But with some excellent safety play, Laxman forced his opponent to create an opening for him and the Indian crafted a handy 41 break. There on, Laxman never looked back.
