After another successful outing that saw Lovepreet Singh and Seema Kaliramna add silver and bronze, respectively, to India's medal tally, the country's athletes return for a crucial Day 9 at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.
On Friday, India scripted history in the men's javelin throw at the 2026 Commonwealth Games as Neeraj Chopra and Yashvir Singh clinched silver and bronze respectively, securing the country's first-ever double podium in the event.
Meanwhile, Tejaswin Shankar bagged his first-ever Decathlon medal for India, winning a bronze medal despite struggling with an injury before the start of his event.
On the other hand, Asmita Dey (Women's 48Kg) and Harsh Singh (Men's 60Kg) became the first-ever Indian judokas to win a CWG gold medal. Yamini Mourya (57Kg) won the silver medal.
In addition, all ten Indian semi-finalists in boxing won their respective bouts and will fight for Gold on Saturday.

Coming into the tournament, everyone doubted that Neeraj Chopra would deliver again, as he was struggling with an injury and had started his season just before the CWG.
But India's Golden Boy delivered again and became the first Indian to win two Javelin throw medals at the Commonwealth Games, with his best season-best throw of 85.83m.
In addition, India bagged another medal in the event as Yashvir Singh came up with his career-best throw of 85.41m on his last attempt to win the bronze medal.
Neeraj Chopra returned to the podium after a heartbreaking finish at the 2025 World Championships, finishing in second place with a best of 85.83m.
Yashvir is now just behind Neeraj Chopra in third place, confirming a bronze medal with a new career-best throw at his final attempt.
He crossed the 85m mark for the first time in his career, and what better stage could it be, as it gives him his first international medal.
Neeraj remains in second place, with his 4th attempt of 80.73m. Rumesh Pathirage remains in the lead with 89.75m.
Neeraj Chopra remained in second place with his best of 85.83m, while Rohit Yadav (81.56m) and Yashvir (81.33m) are in 5th and 6th positions, respectively.
Meanwhile, the reigning Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan has been knocked out after the first three attempts, finishing 9th with a best of 77.41m.
Narender Berwal is now in complete control of the bout. He can afford to relax a bit in the final round.
