The Indian men's and women's teams registered their sixth straight win at the Chess Olympiad in Budapest on Monday to stay on top of the table.
Grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi, the World No. 4, on the personal front, won six matches in a row as he remains unbeaten in the 45th Chess Olympiad.
Arjun defeated Russian-turned-Hungarian Sjugirov Sanan as India registered a hard-fought 3-1 win over Hungary.
Playing the first match of the rubber, D Gukesh played out a draw against top Hungarian Richard Rapport.
R Praggnanandhaa settled for a draw against great Peter Leko.
Arjun gave India the first lead in the rubber with a win over Sanan, with Vidit Gujrathi confirming India's victory with a win over Benjamin Gledura.
The victory made India the sole leaders in the event as a spirited Vietnamese team held China to a 2-2 draw.
Indian women's team edge past Armenia
In the women's section, Divya Deshmukh became India's sole winner in the rubber against Armenia. Divya defeated Elina Danielian to help India gain the lead after D Harika and R Vaishali played out a draw with Lilit Mkrtchian and Mariyam Mkrtchyan, respectively.
With the Indian women's team claiming a 2-1 lead, Tania Sachdev played it safe from a position of strength and settled for a draw on the fourth board with Anna Sargsyan to help India win the tie 2.5-1.5.
This win helped India retain their position on top of the table.
