That's the end of the misery for Salima Tete's India. They did have their chances early on in the match but failed to break the Dutch defence much like all the other teams in this World Cup so far. Netherlands scored once in the first quarter and then saved their energy to net twice in the final quarter to all but end India's hope of their best-ever World Cup finish.

Take nothing away from the Indian defenders and goalkeeper Bichu Devi though, all of whom were absolutely exceptional to ward of multiple threats from the relentless Holland attackers.

Right then, Netherlands are the first finalists of the 2022 Women's Junior Hockey World Cup.
