Treesa-Gayatri ends India's 15-year wait for a women's doubles medal

Although there was a disappointing final game, the Indian duo has shown quality badminton in this tournament and won a bronze medal in women's doubles.

The duo started well against the Chinese pair and won the first game, but then the world No. 1 Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning showed their class and outclassed the duo after the second mid-game break.

The Indians were not able to cope up with the high pressure of an explosive attacking display from the Chinese and settled for the bronze medal.

With this, the Indian campaign ended in New Delhi with just one bronze medal, but the young Indian pair continued India's medal-winning streak in every edition since 2011.
