Quite uneventul first 45 minutes. FC Goa was more eager to break the deadlock, but their forwards lacked the finishing touches as they were unable to convert their chances. On the other hand, Gokulam Kerala were left as mere spectators in terms of attacking as offsides were aplenty whenever the Malabarians went forward to attack.
