It was a good game for the Indian women's doubles pair as Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto defeated the world number nine Japanese pair of Mayu Matsumoto and Wakhana Nagahara.

The Indian pair won the match 21-19, 13-21, 21-15.
