That's all we have from the opening night of the 2024 Hockey India League. The Delhi SG Pipers walk away as the happier side, having pocketed a bonus point with their shoot-out win.

Tomas Demene put the SG Pipers to an early lead with a penalty corner conversion in a first quarter, where they called the shots. Gonasika hit back via Struan Walker, thanks to a good assist from Nikkin in the second quarter.

The third quarter began with great intensity and both teams scored. While Gonasika took the lead for the first time via Victor Charlet, Dembele scored once again for a brace and put the SG Pipers level.

The shoot-out was a story to forget for Gonasika with Struan Walker and Manpreet Singh missing their attempts.
