He Bingjiao lost to fellow Chinese top seed Chen Yufei

In the other semi-final of the day, it was an all Chinese showdown with top seed Chen Yufei sparring off against an inspired He Bingjiao! Quite the nail-biter as it was, Chen Yufei had the final word as she sailed into her first Olympic final as well at the Tokyo Olympics!

Yufei will now meet Tai Tzu Ying in the Gold medal match!
