Wang Zhi Yi upsets PV Sindhu

Asian champion Wang Zhi Yi, who trails 3-13 in the third game, makes a massive turnaround to win the third game 21-16 and the Malaysia Masters women's singles title. This is the third title of the year for Wang. She won the Indonesia Masters and Badminton Asia Championships earlier this year. 

Sindhu has to wait for another opportunity to end her title jinx. Sindhu was playing her first final in more than a year but lost again. Sindhu last won a title at the Singapore Open in July 2022. 

Final result: PV Sindhu loses to Wang Zhi Yi 21-16, 5-21, 16-21 in 79 minutes.
