Judo, Women's 48Kg Bronze Medal Bout: Asmita Dey loses on a Waza-ari; misses out on medal

Asmita was trying to go aggressive against the top against Ganbaataryn Narantsetseg of Mongolia but got countered and conceded a Waza-ari in the third minute.

The experienced Mongolian Judoka used Asmita's aggression against her and pushed her to the mat on her back when she was trying to find a grip, but gave up a scoring point.

Asmita tried to find a reply in the last few minutes but was not able to get any points and conceded the defeat, missing out on a medal.

The reigning Commonwealth Games champion had earlier lost in the quarter-finals but fought her way through the repechage, defeating Hong Kong’s Wong Ka Lee by Yuko to reach the medal bout.
