Two Indian men's singles players, Kidambi Srikanth and Sankar Subramanian, booked their spots in the quarter-finals of the Thailand Masters Super 300 Tournament at the Nimibutr Stadium, in Bangkok on Thursday.

Srikanth got better of Jason Gunawan of Hong Kong in straight games (21-19, 21-15) whereas Sankar Subramanian upset the third-seeded Indonesian shuttler Chico Wardoyo in a tight three-game (9-21, 21-10, 21-17) match.

Sankar came from behind to register this incredible victory against the much-experienced Indonesian player. He will now take on the Chinese shuttler Zhu Xuanchen in the quarterfinal on Friday.

Kidambi, Rakhsita progress to quarterfinal

On the other hand, the experienced shuttler Kidambi Srikanth showcased his composure by booking his quarterfinal spot where he will take on the sixth-seeded Wang Zhengxing of China.

In women's singles, Rakshitha Sree Santosh Ramraj also reached the quarterfinal with a comfortable straight-game (21-15, 21-12) win against Chinese Taipei shuttler, Tung Ciou-Tong.

She is the only Indian remaining in the women's singles category and will compete against Thailand's Thamonwan Nithiittikrai on Friday for a spot in the semifinal.

However, the Indian campaign ended in the mixed doubles category after the exit of the Indian pairing of Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde. They lost in straight games (19-21, 15-21) to the Thai pair of Ratchapol Makkasasithorn and Nattamon Laisuan.
