Telangana International Challenge: Isharani and Rithvik win singles titles
Indian shuttlers completed a clean sweep by winning titles in all five categories at the Telangana International.
Indian shuttlers dominated the Telangana International Challenge on Sunday, securing all five titles in a clean sweep at this BWF Continental Circuit tournament held in Hyderabad, India.
India’s victory was assured before the finals even began, as each title match featured only Indian players.
Isharani Baruah claimed her second International Challenge title of the year in the women’s singles category, defeating young talent Rakshitha Sree Santhosh Ramraj in a thrilling three-game battle (21-15, 9-21, 21-17).
Anmol Kharb and Anupama Upadhyaya, the favorites, took bronze medals.
In the men’s singles, Rithvik Sanjeevi Sathish Kumar secured the title with a commanding (21-11, 21-14) win over Tarun Reddy Katam, following an impressive semi-final upset over top-seeded Mieraba Luwang.
The top-seeded women’s doubles pair, Priya Devi Konjengbam, and Shruti Mishra, claimed their title, while the men’s doubles trophy went to Prithvi Krishnamurthy Roy and Sai Pratheek K.
Rounding out the tournament, Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde won the mixed doubles title with a solid (21-17, 21-19) victory over seasoned players Tanisha Crasto and Hariharan Amsakarunan.
