After barging into the top-30 of world rankings, Lakshya Sen has now achieved his career best rank as he went two places up to 27 in the world. The youngster is now fourth highest ranked shuttler in the country.

The recently concluded All-England Championship was a big push to his ranking. Last year Sen played in most of the Challenger and Super 100 tournaments.

He had won Dutch Open and Sarlolux Open in 2019 and has been training with Vimal Kumar who has been visibly instrumental in Lakshya's feat. Lakshya lost to 21-17 and 21-18 in the All England Championship to Victor Axelson, who eventually went on to win the title.

Lakshya’s style in the last couple of months has changed, according to Vimal. He has been extremely attacking now. That was the reason his opposition lost before being able to read Lakshya’s movement and smashes all around, Vimal explained, this change has come mainly after Lakshya, and three other students of the Prakash Padukone Academy have been training in a Danish club where the ‘Great Dane’ Frost is the chief coach.

The 18-year-old rising star of Indian badminton is being projected as a medal contender in any major international championship like Senior World Championship and Olympics within the next couple of years.
