India's star javelin thrower Sachin Yadav is all set to make his Diamond League debut at the 2026 Rome Diamond League in Italy on June 4.

He is the sole Indian competing at the meet, as two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra, who is yet to begin his season, has not been named in the start list for Rome.

Sachin enjoyed a breakout 2025 season, winning a medal at the Asian Championships in South Korea and registering a historic fourth-place finish at the World Championships in Tokyo.

However, since then, the world No. 9 has struggled to find his best form and has not crossed the 82m mark this season in either of the two competitions he has contested.

His last appearance came at the Federation Cup 2026 in Ranchi, where he finished fifth with a sub-par throw of 79.07m and also missed the Commonwealth Games qualification mark of 82.61m.

He will be chasing that mark in Rome in a strong field that includes current world leader Rumesh Pathirage of Sri Lanka as he looks to qualify for the prestigious Games.

The reigning world champion Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad & Tobago and former world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada will also be part of the 10-man field.
