National Junior Athletics C'ships: Amanat Kamboj wins gold medal in U18 discus throw-Highlights

The young sprinters Abhinaya Rajarajan and Mruty Dondapati were in action on the first day of the National Junior Championships in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on Saturday.
The first day of the event had 12 finals across all the age categories (U14, U16, U18, U20), starting from 4:30 PM IST.

Vineeta clocked a personal best timing of 4:29.26 to clinch the gold medal for Uttar Pradesh.

Amanat breaks the 12-year-old meet record to clinch the gold medal for Punjab
Gold - Amanat Kamboj - Punjab - 52.89m
Silver - Riddhi - Haryana - 48.80m
Bronze - Supriya Attri - Uttar Pradesh - 46.57
Kedharnadh jumped to the height of 1.71m to book his spot in the final. Zubin Gohaian of Asaam also cleared the 1.71m mark but on the third attempt after missing the first two attempts on 1.68m.
There are 18 entries in the final of women's U18 Discus Throw final which includes experienced players like Amanat Kamboj.
Dev's best throw of 15.43m breaks the national U16 shot put record to finish the qualification round on the top of the standings.
Prachi clocked a timing of 17:22.79 to clinch the first gold medal for Maharashtra at this competition.
