Big names make a return as Bengaluru gears up for Indian Grand Prix 3

The Indian Grand Prix 3 is scheduled for tomorrow with big names such as Ancy Sojan and Hima Das making a return.

Ancy Sojan clinches gold in women's long jump final at Indian Grand Prix-3.

The third leg of the Indian Grand Prix is set to begin on June 12 at the Kanteerva Stadium, Bengaluru as big names such as Ancy Sojan, Rohit Yadav, and Hima Das make a return to the circuit.

Jointly organized by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), the Karnataka Athletics Association, and NEB Sports Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the event promises to be an exciting competition across 12 disciplines.

Big Names return to action

Asian Games medalist long jumper Ancy Sojan, star sprinter Hima Das, and Javelin Thrower Rohit Yadav are among the big names returning to the circuit.

Ancy has missed the action in the 2024 season and will be itching to make a comeback in the women's long jump with Nayana James also taking part in the tournament.

Coming from a doping ban, Star sprinter Hima Das will look to finish the race this team after pulling out mid-way in the Indian Grand Prix 1 at the same venue in April.

Javelin Thrower Rohit Yadav will make a comeback after an injury that he sustained last year before the Asian Athletics Championships and will look to have a good show.

He will compete against Asian Games medalist Kishore Kumar Jena who is trying to get his season going after poor performances in the Doha Diamond League and Federation Cup.

Among returning stars, one of the fastest Indians ever Manikanta Hoblidhar will be in action in the 100m sprint event.

In women's 400m, Olympic-bound Jyothika Dandi Sri, Vithya Ramaraj, Povamma Raju, and Subha Venkatesh will be itching to improve their personal bests.

Schedule of Indian Grand Prix 3

The action will start at 01:30 PM IST with Triple Jump getting the meet underway and the last event will be 800m at 07:30 PM IST.

Timing of selected events (All in IST):

Women's Long Jump: 06:30 PM

Men's Javelin Throw: 06:20 PM

Women's 400m: 04:40 PM onwards.
