Asian Relays 2026: India mixed 4x400m team wins silver; mixed 4x100m team take bronze
India were the defending champions in 4x400m mixed relay.
Indian clinched two medals – a silver and a bronze – on the opening day of the 2026 Asian Relays Championships in China on Saturday.
The mixed 4x100m quartet of Pranav Gurav, Tamanna, Animesh Kujur, and Sneha SS were the first to bag a medal, winning bronze with a timing of 41.47s.
They fell 0.12s short of the Indian national record set by Ragul Kumar, Nithya Gandhe, Animesh Kujur and Sneha Shanuvalli at the World Relays earlier this year.
Later in the day, the Indian mixed 4x400m quartet of MR Poovamma, Neeru Pathak, Theerthesh P Shetty and Barath Sridhar, clocked 3:17.06s to clinch a silver medal behind Kazakhstan (3:16.75s).
This marked India's second 4x400m medal in the continental relays in as many editions, having won a gold medal in the inaugural edition two years ago.
