Jyothi Surekha clinched her second successive gold medal at the Indoor World Series 2024-25 in Taoyuan, Chinese Taipei.

Ace Indian compound archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam continued her brilliant run of form on the indoor circuit as she won her second successive Indoor Word Series Title on Sunday at the Taipei Archery Open.

She clinched the gold medal in the women's compound individual category in a low-scoring (144-140) final against the home favorite Chen Yu Ju. This was her second title in two months after she clinched the GT Open in November.

Jyothi maintained consistency, scoring 29 in each of the first four sets, which gave her a good lead of three points before she headed for the final set. In the final set, she scored a low 28, but it was enough for her to clinch the title.

The Indoor Word Series action will now resume next year with the fourth stage of the Indoor season at the Nimes Archery Tournament in January 2025.

Bronze medal for Prathamesh and Ankita

Indian archers added a few more medals to their tally at the event as Prathamesh Fuge and Ankita Bhakat clinched the bronze medals in men's compound and women's recurve categories.

Prathamesh registered a comfortable (147-144) win against Kim Jongho of South Korea in the bronze medal playoff to clinch a well-deserved medal on his debut at the Indoor World Series.

Meanwhile, Olympian Ankita got better (6-2) of Lee Yunji of South Korea to clinch her first individual medal on the circuit after five years.
