Quarter-miler Hima Das, javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and sprinter Dutee Chand were included in the list of national campers by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) ahead of the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. The camp will go on till the start of the event in Japan.

Hima and Neeraj did not take part in the recent Athletics World Championships that was held in Qatar from 27 September to 6 October, while Dutee did not qualify for the semis after a dismal showing.

She has been named in the nine-member women's 4x100m relay team that will be based in NIS Patiala. Neeraj and Hima have also been named for the same camp.

The javelin thrower had undergone surgery on his right elbow earlier this year and is yet to regain full fitness, while Hima too pulled out of the event due to injury. Her persistent back problem forced her to withdraw from the World Championships at the very last moment.

Shotputter Inderjeet Singh, who was suspended by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) earlier this month after he was tested positive for banned substances Androsterone and Eticholanalone, was also removed in the list of campers, but the AFI will have his name removed soon.

After the National Anti Doping Association (NADA) Appeal Panel questioned the integrity of the samples collected from Inderjeet in June 2016, the athlete was given a clean chit. The CAS later overturned the decision, declaring the samples to be sealed and intact when examined by the lab.
