2019 China Open: All you need to know, schedule, draw, Indian contingent, when and where to watch

The BWF World Tour moves to China with the prestigious Super 1000 level event, VICTOR China Open scheduled to get underway from September 17 in Changzhou, Jiangsu.The Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium will witness the top shuttlers from around the world vie for top honours with Japanese players leading the field in terms of the rankings in both the men's and women's singles events.

All England Open champion Kento Momota is ranked right at the top amongst the men while women's top seed Akane Yamaguchi will look to make amends for a shock second-round exit at the World Championships.

India's PV Sindhu who conquered the world at Basel will be looking to take the winning momentum forward while Saina Nehwal who withdrew from the Chinese Taipei Open will be hoping to regain her stride in an event which truly counts.

HS Prannoy who upset Chinese veteran Lin Dan in the second round of the BWF World Championships will miss the China Open tournament as he is down with dengue.

The China Open will be the last of the three Super 1000 category events of the BWF World Tour this year and is the eighteenth tournament in the tour calendar.

Sameer Verma (WR #16) takes on Angus Long (WR #11) of Hong Kong.
The two have not met recently but Sameer has won three of the five matches played between the two.

Prannoy, however, will not be playing

Kidambi Srikkanth (WR #10) will face Sai Praneeth (WR #15)
Srikkanth leads the head-to-head stats by a 5-3 margin

PV Sindhu (WR#5) will clash horns with Li Xuerui (WR #20)
The Indian shuttle queen has played six matches against Li with the honours even currently but Sindhu did beat Li in the Indonesian masters earlier this year.

Saina Nehwal (WR #8) will be up against Busanan Ongamrungphan (WR #19)
No recent meetings but Saina leads the head-to-head by a 3-1 margin.
