India's leading household consumer durables brand, Usha International announced the winner of the first of its four 10-day training camps. Usha has been associated with the Junior Training Programme (JTP) of the Delhi Golf Club since 2006 with the aim of nurturing young talent. They conduct annual training programs for children aged between 8 and 17. The 33rd edition of the Usha Junior Training Programme has been divided into four 10-day camps, scheduled to take place between May 13 and June 21. The first camp—which saw 50 youngsters take part under the guidance of famous coach Ajay Gupta—concluded earlier today at the Delhi Golf Club. Anas, Riya Chaudhary, Aarit Malhotra, Yashviraaj Mahajan, Hridaan wahal, Swastic Goel and Abheiu Gandotra taking away the maximum number of prizes across categories like Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Bunker, Long Drive and Playing competitions.
Renowned Category-A coaches, Ajay Gupta, Vikram Sethi, Nonita Lall Qureshi and Jasjit Singh train players on various aspects of the game. The children are placed in different categories—Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced— based on their ability. A daily session of two-hours covers different aspects of the game – Long Drive, Putting, Chipping, Bunker, and Pitching, as well as the basic rules and etiquettes of the game. The camps end with a prize distribution ceremony. The programme has produced some of the best golfers of the country. Prominent names in the international circuit like Shiv Kapur, Daniel Chopra, Rashid Khan, and Gauri Monga, have emerged from the camps by JTP. The programme takes a holistic approach while training the children. Not only does it look to discover hidden talent, but also aims at improving their sportsman spirit, team-work and leadership skills, alongside focus and goal setting. Usha International supports numerous sports and related tournaments in the country including Ultimate Flying disc, Cricket League, Amateur Golf,  Deaf Cricket,  Blind Sports (Athletics, Kabaddi, Judo and Powerlifting), and Football.
