The game was full of action but lacked goals, thanks to the heroics from India's two top goalkeepers, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and Subrata Paul though the latter was kept the busier of the two. Subrata Paul made nine saves in total through the entirety of the match while Gurpreet made three crucial saves to keep a clean sheet. Both the teams had several chances to go ahead but a wasteful striking display and some wonderful goalkeeping saw the game end in a goalless draw.

Jamshedpur FC began the game cautiously and allowed Bengaluru FC to play the game on to them. As a result, the Blues had piled on a good amount of early pressure in the first thirty minutes of the game. The first real chance came as early as in the 6th minute when Raphael Augusto and Udanta Singh combined to play Chhetri. Chhetri's shot from distance was caught by Subrata Paul on the second attempt. Jamshedpur FC hit back straight away two minutes later when Sergio Castel hit the post from a low shot from distance. Sandhu was well-beaten and Bengaluru FC were lucky enough to not fall behind early against the run of play.

Since then it was all Bengaluru FC for quite some time. Subrata Paul was kept extremely busy. Paul parried away a dangerous looking corner from Delgado and held on to a headed attempt from a flying Juanan in the 14th minute. Two minutes later, Raphael Augusto's shot from inside the box was inches away from the goal. Bengaluru FC came closest to scoring in the 20th minute when a corner to Albert Serran found Khabra whose flick-on was somehow denied by strong fingers of Subrata Paul on the goal-line from point-blank range. It looked like Bengaluru FC would soon score as the Jamshedpur FC defence was under immense pressure but somehow the home side kept on surviving all the chances, Bengaluru FC had and went into the break goalless.

The second-half was a way more evenly poised affair. Jamshedpur FC slowly started to come back into the game. Piti and Sergio Castel started to run riot in the Bengaluru FC half. Piti's quality delivery found Memo from a set-piece who set up Farukh Chowdhary. Farukh's powerful shot was saved on goal by Sandhu in the 53rd minute. Jamshedpur FC came close to scoring again in the 58th minute when Sergio Castel's corner found Farukh Chowdhary who went in for an overhead attempt and forced Sandhu to make a save out of nowhere. Jamshedpur FC again had a chance in the 65th minute when Sergio Castel's header was blocked by Rahul Bheke in front of the goal from a Piti corner.

Bengaluru FC had to slow down the proceedings to somehow put a pause to the Jamshedpur onslaught and resorted to patient play. A defence-splitting ball from Dimas Delgado plays Ashique Kuruniyan through on goal but he shot straight to Paul despite having Chhetri as an option in the box. Manuel Onwu also missed a 1v1 situation with Paul and his shot was saved later. With continuous end to end action for the entirety of the game, the teams cut some slack and settled for a draw in the final minutes with calm and composed passing among themselves.

Jamshedpur moved to the top of the table after this draw. Bengaluru move to 7th in the standings and are yet to win a game in their current ISL campaign. Jamshedpur FC now travel to Kolkata on 9 November while the Blues travel to their home in Bengaluru to host Chennaiyin FC on 10 November.
