The lockdown saw shutting down of gyms and recreational activities, including running and triathlon events all over India. However, this did not stop the running community from getting back on track through virtual runs.
Virtual runs are runs that are not conducted like a traditional marathon. A person downloads an app onto their phone or fitness tracker which then calculates the pace and time that one takes to finish a run. These details are then sent to the contest holders who then approve it as a completed virtual run.
Virtual runs provide a safe alternative by having users participate from anywhere in the world, indoors or outdoors. This helps in following social distancing norms while those interested to partake in running events can continue to do so. Here are the top 3 upcoming runs in November 2020.
